The complete patch notes for 1.4.5.3, as written in the changelog file that ships with the game.
Content & Additions
- Added a Portraits Styles options to the Interface menu, with four distinct options: Detailed, Profile, Retro and Disabled.
- Added an Inventory Effects toggle to the Interface menu (disables the item flash when crafting).
- Added a Screen Shake toggle to the Video -> Effects menu.
- Added a Thunder Effects toggle to the Video -> Effects menu, which disables visual flashes from lightning (does not disable lightning strikes).
- Improved clipboard support on Linux.
Balance
- Storm lightning strike changes:
- Reduced damage to players from 200/300/400 on Classic/Expert/Master difficulty to 80/160/240. Legendary difficulty damage unchanged.
- Strike delay increased from 3.5 seconds to 4 seconds.
- Reduced player attachment range from three tiles to slightly less than one tile. Does not apply to Legendary difficulty.
- Strikes will no longer spawn directly in the path of fast moving players.
- Improved visuals of impending strike effect.
- Reduced the likelihood of lightning striking bodies of water.
- Strike frequency reduced when fishing, sleeping or fighting a boss.
- No longer appear during blizzards.
- Pylons no longer attract lightning.
- Visual effect intensity reduced for players who are behind walls.
- Villagers and pets now stay inside during thunderstorms.
- Lightning can now strike further from the player.
- Increased the appearance rate of Cattiva and Foxparks by 50%. Adjusted the ratio of 70% Cattiva - 30% Foxparks to 60% Cattiva - 40% Foxparks.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a multiplayer crash involving waterfalls.
- Fixed a duplication glitch involving certain transformation mounts.
- Fixed .ZIP file based resource packs no longer working.
- Fixed the game being stuck in Halloween mode for the rest of the session once it becomes active. Spooky!
- Fixed distressed Foxparks' mouseover hitbox being much larger than intended.
- Fixed Music Boxes playing their record scratch sound effect when trying to record an unrecordable track (e.g. Rainbow Boulder).
- Fixed Toybreaker Bricks not breaking Sticky Glowsticks and certain Kites.
- Fixed petting, sleeping or sitting not resetting the Kite AFK timer.
- Fixed sloped Rainbow Bricks not using the correct sprite.
- Linux now automatically falls back to OpenGL where Vulkan is not fully supported
- If the game doesn't launch/black screen, try /gldevice:OpenGL (or try repairing your Vulkan drivers)
- If the audio is dropping out, try /audiodriver:pulseaudio or /audiodriver:alsa (or try repairing your pipewire drivers)
- If none of those work, please submit a bug on the terraia community forums
- Proton is not supported or recommended, please submit a bug report before resorting to Proton
