Wings tier list
All 51 wings in Terraria 1.4.5, sorted by flight time. Flight time is how long you can hold jump before falling, air speed is the top horizontal speed while flying, and hover wings let you hold down to descend slowly. Values come straight from the game's wing stats, and the source column shows whether a pair is crafted, dropped or bought.
what the numbers mean
Wings give you a flight meter that drains while you hold jump and refills the moment you touch ground, a rope or a hook. Two figures decide how a pair feels: how long the meter lasts, and how fast you climb while it burns. A long meter with a slow climb is for crossing the map. A short meter with a hard climb is for staying alive in an arena. Most pairs also let you glide down gently once the meter is empty, which is a separate ability and often the part you use most.
gravity underneath all of it
Falling speeds up until it hits a cap, which is why a fifty tile drop and a five hundred tile drop kill you the same way. Gravity also weakens the higher you go, so movement near the top of the map feels floaty. A Gravitation Potion or a Gravity Globe flips your personal gravity on a key press. While flipped you fall upward, drop straight through platforms, cannot glide, and cannot summon a mount. Hitting the top of the world does no damage and just turns you back over. The flip resets your fall distance too, so it doubles as a free cancel on a drop that would have killed you.
