These are wings with a second mode. Hold jump together with down and you stop climbing and instead cruise sideways at a speed nothing else at this tier matches. That makes it a crossing and dodging tool rather than a climbing tool. In a long flat arena you can hold the hover and simply outrun most attacks; in a vertical shaft you will wish you had wings with a taller ceiling.

• A ranger in full Shroomite still goes invisible while hovering, as long as they hold position. That gives you a floating hiding spot in the middle of a fight.
• It reacts to compound dyes far more dramatically than most accessories. Pairing with Silver Dye flips its colors, Black Dye blackens the trim, and the exhaust flames recolor with it.

The name and the sprite both point at the flying board from the second Back to the Future film.
