4on a golf course
These are pure signage for a hole. Plant one at the tee, or at a bend where the cup is out of sight, and it tells whoever is playing which way to swing. It changes nothing about the physics of a shot, so the arrow is there for the reader and not for the ball. Right-clicking one that is already placed spins it, and it runs through eight positions, the four straight directions plus the diagonals, so you can aim it up a slope or off to one side instead of settling for the nearest approximation.
buying them and finding other uses
The Golfer carries the plain one and the painted version side by side, and the difference between them is color, so pick whichever suits the wood you built the course from. He has to be living in your town first, and he does not turn up on his own: he is found tied up in the dungeon and has to be freed. Once you own a few there is no reason to keep them on the fairway. They mark a branch in a mine shaft or point at a teleporter pad just as well.
