This is near the top of the food ladder, and the duration is generous enough that one before a boss covers the whole attempt with time left over. Once you have a supply, there is no reason to keep eating weaker cooking. Only the single best food in the game beats it outright.

Pigrons live where an ice biome underground overlaps hallowed or corrupt ground, which in most worlds means building that overlap yourself with solution or hauled blocks.

The restriction that catches people is that statue spawns do not count. Anything the game treats as artificially spawned withholds food drops, so a statue farm produces nothing here. You need genuine spawns in a real Pigron biome, and the party pinata that used to be a shortcut no longer drops it either.
