what firing it is like
Holding the trigger puts a slow moving wall of bubbles a few tiles in front of you rather than sending anything downrange. Whatever stands inside that cloud gets hit over and over, which is where the damage comes from, and it is also why the weapon is useless the moment the target is more than a short hop away.
what to point it at
Large bosses that fly at you are the ideal target, since they close the gap themselves and then sit in the cloud while they turn around. The Pumpkin and Frost Moon bosses are the clearest case. Against anything that keeps its distance or crosses the arena in fast passes you will spend the fight out of range and want a weapon that reaches.
- Applying Ichor first matters more here than on most magic weapons, because you are landing a huge number of small hits and each one benefits.
- Water does not slow the bubbles down, so flooded arenas and ocean fights change nothing.
- Remix worlds take it off Fishron entirely and hide a much weaker version in Dungeon chests, where it works as an armor shredding early gun instead.
