who can use it
This is the pet that shipped with the physical Collector's Edition. Anyone who bought that box finds one waiting in the inventory of every new character they make. Everybody else does not, and cannot: the item can be traded over or spawned in, but it will refuse to summon anything for an account that was never flagged as owning the edition.
why it exists
The publisher wanted something in the game that only the boxed copy would unlock, as a reason to pay for a disc rather than a download. The answer was deliberately harmless, a cosmetic follower that changes nothing about how the game plays. The bunny takes its fur color from the shirt color you picked when you created the character.
odd corners
- You can research it in Journey Mode and the duplicates still will not work.
- Put it in the pet slot without owning the edition and the bunny turns up on the character select screen, just never in the world itself.
- The pet data ships inside every copy of the game so that multiplayer stays compatible, which is why something you cannot use is sitting in the files at all.
