These fall off Harpies, which means the sky. If you are already up there laying a skybridge or hunting floating islands you will collect a small pile without trying, and that is the only sensible way to get them. Going up specifically to farm harpies is a slow afternoon.

Do it before hardmode. Once wyverns start patrolling that altitude, a casual building trip turns into a fight you did not sign up for, and the harpies become the least of your worries.

A statue will not help here. Statue-spawned enemies do not drop food, so a harpy farm built on wiring produces nothing.
