Dead Man's Sweater

This started life as a vanity joke and now has one specific job: surviving traps. The darts, the spears and the flame bursts that come out of trapped walls all land softer, there is a hard ceiling on how much a single one can take off you no matter how nasty the source, and the debuffs they leave wear off sooner.

That matters in two places. Early on, when you are opening up the underground with almost no health and one dart line can end a run, the defense is competitive with anything else you could realistically be wearing. Later, in the temple, the cap and the shortened debuffs turn hits that would have chained into a death into an annoyance.

It is a chest piece, so wearing it means giving up a set bonus. Swap it in for a trapped area and swap it back out for a boss.

The name is a redshirt joke, after the disposable crew members who beam down and never come back up. It is also the name of a band that Redigit and Cenx play in.
