the projectiles park
Each swing throws a slow blade that drifts a short way and then stops dead in the air, still spinning, hurting anything that touches it for a few seconds afterward. That changes how you fight with it. You are not aiming at an enemy so much as filling the space in front of you with hovering blades and letting things walk into them. Swing early, before the target arrives.
it works through walls
The blades ignore terrain completely, which makes the hardmode dungeon its home. You can hold a corridor from around a corner, hit paladins before they know you are there, and clear a room you have not entered yet. Very little else at this point does that at melee damage.
against Plantera
Her hitbox is enormous and her second phase fills the screen with spores and grabbing arms. Blades left hanging in the air handle all of it at once while you keep circling. This is probably the best use it gets, and a decent reason to farm an eclipse before heading into the jungle.
the odd bit
Melee speed bonuses do not only make you swing faster here, they push the blades further out before they stop. Stacking attack speed quietly extends the weapon's reach, which is not something swords normally do.
