Detonator

A detonator sitting on top of a fat, tempting vein of silver is not a prize. It is bait, and there is explosive wired underneath. The plunger is at least easy to see compared to a pressure plate, which is the one mercy this trap gives you. Cut the wire before you touch the ore.

Falling on it sets it off, but a short step down will not. You need a genuine drop, so brushing past one is safe in a way that walking over a pressure plate never is. Enemies and NPCs cannot trip it at all. Only you can.

Setting it off by hand locks the plunger down for about a second, which caps how fast you can spam it. A wire pulse instead latches it down until another pulse resets it, which makes a wired detonator a decent one shot trigger in a build rather than a repeating switch.
