how it throws
Unlike the thorn version this one ignores walls rather than skipping off them, so there is no ricochet game to play. It flies out, slows, turns and comes home in a straight line, and it comes home fast.
The trick is the same one every boomerang shares. Once it begins slowing down it can hit any number of enemies and starts passing through tiles, so the outer end of the throw is where it does the most damage. Aim past a group instead of into it, and use the return leg to reach targets tucked behind a thin wall. Water and honey shorten the throw noticeably.
getting one
It only comes out of presents during the Christmas event, at a rate low enough that you will open a great many before one shows up. Opening them in bulk on the first night is the practical approach, since the odds do not improve later.
The real chakram is an Indian throwing weapon, a flat ring sharpened around the rim, and it was never meant to come back to the thrower.
