Imbuing Station

It is easy to file flasks under melee and skip the station on a summon run. Do not. Whips count for imbues, so the effect fires on every crack of the whip, and it lands on top of whatever your minions are already doing to the target. For a whip heavy build this is one of the cheapest damage upgrades available.

The station is cheap and the flasks are made from things you pick up anyway, so keep a few kinds on hand rather than committing to one. Ichor for anything with heavy defense, venom when you just want the most damage out of each hit, and gold when you are farming for coins rather than fighting something specific. Apply it before you leave home and it will still be running when you get where you are going.
