2what it is
A remote-controlled toy with no combat use at all. You stand still, the drone flies, and you steer it with the movement keys. Let go of it or switch items and it disappears on the spot. Nothing about it deals damage or takes any.
the one practical use
Scouting. With the FPV Goggles on, the camera rides along with the drone, so you can look through walls at what is coming without moving your character or risking a thing. Since your body is locked in place, park it somewhere safe first: you are a stationary target for as long as you are flying.
A quirk of that setup is that world effects stay tied to where your character is, not the drone. Fly it up out of the Underworld and you keep the heat haze and the Underworld music the whole way. It also counts as a projectile, so it can trigger Teal Pressure Pads, which opens up a few wiring tricks.
Thumbstick controls make it noticeably harder to fly than mouse and keyboard. The tooltip is a Fight Club joke.
