Living Flame Dye

Most dyes recolor. This one animates. Whatever you apply it to ripples continuously between yellow and deep red, so it reads as a moving flame rather than a flat orange tint. On a cape, wings or a full armor set it is obvious across the screen. On a small accessory the movement is too fine to notice.

The second effect is the one worth planning around: anything wearing the dye flashes when you take damage. In a crowded fight where your eyes are on projectiles rather than your health bar, that flash is a cheap extra warning that something connected.

You hand Strange Plants to the Dye Trader, and this particular result is locked until a mechanical boss is down. Strange Plants regrow slowly and only in specific biomes, so this is a collect over weeks item rather than an afternoon of farming. If you want a specific animated dye, expect to turn in a lot of plants and take what the trade gives you.
