how the ammo works
Whatever you load comes out as a bone. Every special arrow effect you were counting on is discarded, and the only thing that carries across is the damage on the ammo itself, so the right pick is simply the hardest hitting arrow in your storage. An Endless Quiver keeps the running cost at nothing if you would rather not burn the good stuff.
Velocity gets strange. The bow adds its own speed on top of whatever the arrow had, and the bone projectiles get extra movement steps that ordinary arrows never receive. That is how Hellfire Arrows end up producing the fastest shots even though the fire and the bouncing are stripped out.
The bones do not pierce, so this is single target work. What you get instead is a very high natural crit rate and a rate of fire that shreds the early mechanical bosses if you can keep the stream on one spot. The catch is getting one, since Skeleton Archers rarely part with it and they are not enemies most players choose to stand near.
