Pew-matic Horn
Converts bullets into random stuff 'ALLOWS WIRELESS TRANSFER OF INJURY!'
Dropped by
how it fires
Load it with bullets and it spits out household junk instead. What comes out is random, every entry in the pool is equally likely, and the object decides a damage multiplier applied on top of the bullet you fed it. Across a long fight that averages out to almost exactly the listed damage, so treat the variance as noise rather than something to play around.
picking ammo
Special bullet effects are thrown away in the conversion. Nothing homes, nothing splits, nothing chills. All that survives is the raw damage figure, so the right call is whichever plain bullet hits hardest at your stage and nothing fancier. Projectile speed carries over oddly too, which can leave a high tier round traveling slower here than a basic one, though the gap is small enough that you will rarely notice.
in a fight
Shots arc under gravity and vanish on the first thing they touch, enemy or wall. That rules out shooting down a corridor full of bodies and makes it awkward against anything at long range or behind cover. It is at its best in the open at middling range against a single target, which is exactly the situation you are in when you first get it.
trivia
The gun is lifted from Don't Starve, where the same horn could be loaded with any item at all. The damage each object deals here tracks roughly how heavy the real thing would be, which is why a gemstone lands harder than a leaf.
