Phase Dye

Most dyes recolor. This one inverts, so whatever you put it on reads like a photographic negative of itself with a faint purple haze around the edges. That makes it unpredictable on gear you have not tested. Pieces with strong flat colors flip into something striking, while busy multi color sets turn to mud. Try one slot before committing a full outfit to it.

The effect also reacts to damage, snapping through a fast flicker whenever you get hit, which doubles as a hit marker on your own character. A couple of vehicles behave oddly under it: the mechanical minecart loses its light trail completely, and the dye pattern on the Drill Containment Unit turns with the unit as it moves.

Strange Plants are the only way in, and you do not get to pick which dye comes back, so hand them over as you find them and take what you are given.
