getting a full set
The Traveling Merchant is the only source, and he carries a single color per visit alongside the matching team block. Collecting all six shades takes repeated visits over many in-game days, so treat it as a slow background project rather than something you can shop for on demand. Six colors covers the five team colors plus white for players who have joined no team at all.
what it actually does
Nothing, mechanically. The color is fixed and it ignores which team you are on, so anyone can stand on it or drop through it. That puts it a long way from team dye, which reads your current team and shifts to match. Use it as a colored building material and nothing more. It does count as a valid door for housing the way other platforms do, so a room sealed with one still registers.
One quirk: most platforms convert back and forth with the block they resemble, and these do not. You cannot press team platforms into team blocks or the reverse, so plan the quantity you buy around what you actually intend to place.
