Reflective Metal Dye
the dark one
Black rather than plated, so it comes out looking like gunmetal or polished obsidian instead of jewelry. It is the most restrained option in the reflective family, and the only one that survives being applied to every slot without turning the character into an ornament.
shading, not animation
Standing still it is a completely static sprite, which is why people assume it is broken. Walk past a lantern and the highlights slide across the equipment. Underground with lights spaced out is where it looks best, because there is contrast to work with. Flat daylight calms it right down.
what you can and cannot pick
The Dye Trader pays out a random dye for a strange plant, so you cannot ask for this one. You can decide what to put it on, and dark armor with hard edges suits it far better than anything rounded and bright.
