Spider Egg

This one does not hover or bounce after you like most pets. It grips background walls and scuttles across surfaces the way the real ones in the caves do, and when it falls behind it spins out a strand of web and rides that to catch up. Indoors it looks like it belongs to the room. Near a fence it panics and flickers between the rail and the floor, which is the one spot where the illusion falls apart.

It comes off the Pumpking, with better odds the deeper into the Pumpkin Moon you get. That means it lands in your lap while you are already farming the event for its weapons rather than being something worth chasing on its own.

• It is essentially a shrunken wall creeper. Dye the egg red and what follows you looks close to a blood crawler instead.
