when to use it
The first Crimson Heart you smash hands this over along with enough ammo to start using it on the spot, which makes it the default early gun in a Crimson world. Against the Corruption's Musket it trades punch per shot for a much faster trigger, so it handles the small quick enemies of the first few hours well and struggles against anything with a real health pool.
Ammo matters more here than the gun does. Musket Balls carry it at first, but the fire rate chews through a stack fast, and moving up to Silver or Meteor Shot is a bigger jump than any reforge you can buy.
naming quirk
Prefixes attach to the front of the whole name rather than to the noun, so you end up walking around with a Keen The Undertaker. Every item whose name opens with The has the same grammar problem.
