Raven

There are two places. It flies through forest at night for the duration of the Halloween season, and it lives permanently in a Graveyard, which is the part worth acting on. A graveyard is something you can build on purpose out of tombstones anywhere you like, so a bird that looks seasonal is actually available year round if you want the Raven Feather. Shaking forest trees on an October night can also drop one into the air right beside you.

Like a vulture, it starts perched and only takes off once you get close or hit it, so an alert player can kill one before it ever engages. Airborne, it hovers above you, pauses, then dives. The pause is the entire tell, and the problem is that the sprite is close to pure black against a night sky. Light the strip you are farming and the ambush turns into an obvious slow swoop you can shoot down early. In an unlit forest you get no warning at all.
