How to craft it
how it plays
Spears are usually defensive and this one is no exception, but the spore cloud rewrites the math. Each thrust launches a puff from the tip that keeps traveling, hits everything in its path with no pierce limit, and passes straight through walls. You can stand behind a barrier and still land damage on the far side, somewhere the spear itself cannot reach.
The cloud slows as it drifts and expires after a short run, so treat it as medium range rather than artillery. Melee speed bonuses help twice: quicker thrusts, and clouds that carry further before they fade.
when to reach for it
Worm bosses and long enemy lines. Unlimited piercing on a projectile you can spam is exactly what Destroyer segments and event waves are weak to. Against one compact target you are better served by a Chlorophyte melee weapon that puts everything into a single hit.
Melee buffs that add debuffs, flasks and the Magma Stone, do carry onto the cloud. The visual effects do not follow, so it looks like nothing is being applied when it is.
