How to craft it
how it fights
Shots arc downward and skip off walls a few times before dying, and each one punches through a target on its way. Anything hit keeps burning for a while afterward, so the real output is not the shot itself but the trail of enemies still ticking down behind you while you reload your aim elsewhere.
That makes it excellent in the Dungeon, in corridors, and anywhere enemies bunch up against a wall. In open sky it is much weaker, because the arc just drops the shot into the ground and the bounces never happen. A shot that bounces back into something it already hit counts again, so firing at the floor beside a target is often better than firing at the target.
side benefits
- The projectiles are bright and they do not slow down in water, so it doubles as a flare for exploring flooded caves.
- It is the Corruption entry in a set of three underground biome tomes, and its Crimson and Hallow counterparts play nothing like it despite the shared tier.
