How to craft it
Used to craft
how the throw actually works
The flight has two halves and they behave nothing alike. On the way out it moves fast, hits one thing, and stops there. Once it slows and turns for home it changes character completely: the return leg cuts through everything in its path and passes through terrain, so the tail of the arc is where most of your damage happens. Aim past a group rather than at it and let the trip back do the work.
range
The outbound half runs on a timer rather than a distance, so anything that speeds the throw up buys you reach. Melee speed bonuses stretch it noticeably. Water drags it down and cuts the arc short. It also sinks slightly into blocks near the end of its travel, which is often enough to clip something standing on the far side of a thin wall.
notes
- It is cheap to make and sells for several times the value of its parts, so mass crafting them is an easy early money loop.
- It lights its own path, which makes it a passable scout for a dark corridor before you commit to walking down it.
- The shape is a nod to the boomerang from A Link to the Past.
