A wired charge rather than a thrown bomb. Place it, run wire to a switch or a pressure plate, and it removes a large sphere of terrain along with whatever was standing in it. The damage to a player is severe enough to be simply lethal at most points in a run, which is why the world generator uses them as traps.

A charge sitting inside another charge's blast does not go off. It pops loose as an item instead, so building a bigger explosion by stacking them does not work. Several fired at once also share invincibility frames on their targets, which means a wall of them hits an enemy once rather than once each.

Generation places these beside large ore veins with a detonator nearby, which reads as a gift and is a mine. Dangersense makes the wiring visible and is worth drinking any time you are tunneling toward something that looks too generous. If one gets you, the death message blames you regardless of who actually placed it.

Having a stack of these does not satisfy his move-in condition, despite the name and despite the recipe. You still need the handheld explosives for that.
