Eye of the Golem

A flat block of critical strike chance is one of the cleanest accessory effects in the game because it does not care what class you play or what you are holding. Any build slots it and gets value immediately. That makes it a dependable filler for the stretch between Golem and the pillars, when your movement and defense slots are already spoken for and you are looking for one more source of damage.

The competition is usually a damage percentage from a reforged accessory, and against most targets the two land close enough that it is not worth tearing a working loadout apart. Where it clearly wins is the Dungeon Guardian, whose defense is high enough that ordinary hits barely register and critical hits are one of the few things that get through at all.
