How to craft it
why it beats flaming arrows
The two arrows fill the same slot in a pre-Hardmode kit and this one wins almost every time. The burn it leaves behind ticks a little harder, and more importantly it does not go out in liquid. Fire ammo is dead weight in a flooded cave or an ocean fight, while these keep working underwater, in honey and in Shimmer.
That liquid clause is the whole reason to carry them. Flooded dungeon rooms, the ocean and any arena you built out over water all punish burning ammo, so the reliable option earns the extra crafting step.
notes
- They glow in flight and leave a short trail, which is handy for lighting a dark corridor while you shoot down it.
- They no longer survive to be picked back up, so treat them as spent rather than as recoverable ammunition.
