Hanging Brazier

Ceiling only, and the sprite lies to you. It looks like it dangles from one chain, so people carve a single block gap and then wonder why the game refuses to place it. It wants two blocks of ceiling to attach to. Newer versions let it hang from platforms as well, which is the clean answer for a room where you do not want a solid roof.

It counts as a light source for housing, so it can be the only fixture in a room and the NPC will still move in. Knock out a block it is hanging from and it drops as an item rather than breaking, so repositioning costs you nothing.
