Loki's Helmet

This is one of the developer costumes, and it only comes out of Hardmode boss treasure bags. That restricts it to Expert and Master worlds, since a Classic world never produces a bag in the first place. Every Hardmode boss can hand it over except Queen Slime, whose bag never carries a developer set, so the sensible farm is whichever boss you can resummon fastest. The roll is rare, but when it lands you get the whole kit in one go: the clothing, the wings and the dye together.

Worn as a complete outfit it does something the loose pieces do not. The armor pulses the way adamantite gear does, picks up a glow similar to spooky gear, and reads noticeably darker than it looks in your inventory. The wings are not vanity, so they go in the accessory slot and fly like any other pair, which is reason enough to keep them even if the costume is not your taste.

The outfit belongs to Loki, who runs strategy on the Re-Logic side of the studio. Its shape leans heavily on Daedric armor from The Elder Scrolls games. The tooltips read like lines out of The Art of War, though the one about justice grinding slowly actually traces back to the Greek philosopher Sextus Empiricus.
