Developer sets come out of Hardmode treasure bags and are the rarest tier of the lot. Everything else is bought, crafted, fished or looted the ordinary way.

Dye slots sit next to the social slots and recolor whatever is in them, armor included. Basic dyes only shift hue, so a dull set barely reacts; the compound dyes overwrite the color outright and are the fix for those. Head pieces also differ in whether they show your hair, flatten it, or hide it entirely, and most hide it, which is worth checking before you pay the Stylist for a cut nobody will ever see.
