Archaeologist's Hat
Dropped by
putting it together
Two thirds of this outfit comes off a workbench and the last third comes off a corpse. The hat cannot be made at all. Doctor Bones always leaves one behind, so that piece is a question of running into him rather than gathering anything.
the leather problem in a Crimson world
The jacket and pants are built out of Leather, and leather traces back to Rotten Chunks, which only Corruption enemies carry. If your world rolled the other evil you still have three routes: grow a patch of artificial Corruption, ferry leather over from a second world, or set down a Corrupt Statue and farm the Eaters of Souls it spits out. The statue is the least work of the three once you have turned one up.
what it costs you
The pile of chunks those two crafted pieces eat would otherwise have become a long run of Worm Food, so dressing up as an archaeologist means giving up a stretch of boss summons. Decide which you want before you start hoarding. The look is an Indiana Jones nod, and like the rest of the wardrobe it belongs in the social slots and does nothing for your defense.
