Dog Ears

The Zoologist puts the dog pieces out on a full moon or a waning gibbous, two of the eight nights in the lunar cycle. They cannot be crafted, dropped or fished up, so the whole acquisition is a waiting game against the sky. If the phase is wrong when you arrive, come back the next night rather than hunting for another seller, because there is not one.

Dog Ears and the Dog Tail register as accessories, which makes the social accessory slots the right home for them. Worn normally they cost you a defensive or movement item for no return, and reforging them changes nothing. Because they are accessories and not head and body gear, they layer over a complete vanity outfit without replacing any of it, which is most of the appeal.
