Mana Crystal

Getting to the mana ceiling is entirely a matter of collecting Fallen Stars, not of crafting. Stars land across the surface all night and disappear at dawn, so the standard approach is a long flat lit strip near your base that you sweep every morning. Build it early even on a melee character, since summoning gear, later accessories and a few emergencies all want the mana eventually.

• Using one at full mana does nothing and does not consume it, so you cannot waste them by accident.
• It refills mana on use as well, but only while you are still under the cap.
• Spare crystals are not dead weight. One converts a Panic Necklace into a Band of Starpower at a Graveyard, and a couple of other recipes want them.
• Think of it as the mana version of a Life Crystal, including the part where you should finish the set before a big fight rather than during one.
