Nanites

Everything you can make from these exists to scramble enemy movement. A confused enemy walks the wrong way, which turns a pack of chargers into a pack wandering off the end of your platform instead of into your face. That is at its best during the moon events and anywhere else you are outnumbered rather than outgunned.

Bosses ignore confusion outright, and so do a fair number of the enemies you would most want shut down. The Flask of Nanites also occupies your melee coating slot, so taking it means giving up a straight damage buff for the whole fight. Buy for a specific problem, not as a default stock item.

• Nanite is casual shorthand for a nanorobot, the hypothetical machine small enough to be injected into a body and repair it from inside. The Cyborg being the one who sells them is the joke.
