This folds two separate summoner accessories into a single slot, and that is the entire argument for it. Accessory slots are the tightest resource a hardmode build has, so getting the damage boost and the extra minion out of one line frees space for mobility or survivability you would otherwise have to skip.
it stacks with its own parts
Making it does not lock you out of wearing the originals alongside it. A player going all in on summons runs all three, which is the standard pure summoner setup once the slots exist to support it.
it covers more than minions
The tooltip talks about minions, which undersells it. The knockback reaches sentries and whips as well, so a whip heavy build gets more out of it than the description suggests. For any hybrid that can only spare one slot for the summon side, this is the pick, because nothing else returns as much per slot.
