Pearlstone Brick

The raw stone spreads the Hallow to anything nearby. The brick does not. If you want the color and texture in a build, or you are constructing inside Hallowed ground and would rather not accelerate the conversion, this is the version to use. The Corruption and Crimson equivalents work identically, and all three make valid housing without seeding the biome around them.

Reclaiming a build made from these needs a decent pickaxe, since the starter tools cannot touch them. Explosives get through without any trouble at all, which is a useful shortcut if you are demolishing rather than salvaging.

The color is muted enough that only the deep paints, plus black and white, will take on it. The same limit applies to the wall version, so plan a color scheme that works with deep tones rather than expecting a pastel finish.
