Pumpkin Seed

Two rules kill most pumpkin patches. The plants want open space on every side, so a tight row planted shoulder to shoulder simply will not fill in, and they refuse to grow below surface depth, which rules out the tidy underground farm room you may have already built for herbs. Planter boxes do not take them either. This is one crop that needs real grass outdoors.

Ordinary grass and hallowed grass both work, so a corrupted or crimson yard is the only thing that stops you. The harvest feeds the Pumpkin Moon Medallion and the pumpkin gear, and since every run at the event burns another medallion, a patch you can cut every couple of days is worth far more than one big planting you clear once.
