Purple Stained Glass

This is a wall, and it behaves like a plain glass wall in every practical way except one: daylight passing through it picks up the color. That tint is the entire point of the material. A room walled fully in purple sits under a purple cast all day, which is easy to overdo, so most builds use it in a strip or a window frame rather than everywhere. The multicolored version cycles its hue instead of holding one color, close to what Rainbow Brick does, though the light it throws is much dimmer.

Converting gems into stained glass and selling the walls gets you more back than selling the raw gems, the multicolored one being the exception. If you only want the look and not the colored light, painting plain glass a deep shade gets close on foreground tiles. Diamond has no variant, presumably because a clear white pane would be indistinguishable from what you started with. Amber does get its own orange pane but is left out of the multicolored recipe, a leftover of orange arriving years after multicolored did.
