Red Husk

There is exactly one thing this material makes, so the only decision is whether to sell the husks raw or run them through a crafting station first. Crafting always wins. The finished dye is worth more than the material it came from, so a few seconds at a station roughly doubles what the same pile of drops puts in your purse.

Cochineal Beetles live down in the stone layers and are easy to walk past, since they sit flat against the rock and barely move. Almost nobody farms them on purpose. Stacks of these build up from ordinary caving, which makes them one of the better incidental earners on an early trip down, whether or not you have any interest in Red Dye.
