Red Stucco
How to craft it
Used to craft
building with it
Stucco is a plain block with a fine speckled surface, and that is exactly what makes it useful. It holds up at a distance without fighting the detailed blocks you put around windows, doors and rooflines, so it works as the large flat field of a building rather than the trim. Four colors ship in the family, and each has a matching wall so the same surface can carry from the outside of a house into the background behind it.
painting it
Paint does not land the same on all four colors. The base tint stays visible under the coat, so a shade that looks right over the gray version can come out muddy over the red one. Put down a few test blocks before committing to a whole facade. One historical oddity: red stucco used to spread corruption to the blocks near it, which was fixed long ago and affects nothing in a current world.
