Sanguine Staff
Summons a sanguine bat to fight for you
The sanguine bat will fight for you

how the bats fight
They hang in a neat arc above your head until something comes into range, then peel off, loop out to the target and swing back. The whole cycle takes the same time no matter how far away the enemy is, and that is the quiet reason this staff is so consistent: distance costs you nothing, and a target that keeps moving does not break the rhythm the way it would with a slower minion.
where it excels
Fast bosses. The tracking is tight enough to keep pace with things that leave most minions circling empty air, and the pierce on both legs of the loop means a packed group takes damage on the way out and again on the way home. Any single bat can only land one hit per enemy per cycle, so a crowd is strictly better for it than one target standing still.
notes
- It pairs well with the Firecracker, whose multiplier rewards hard individual strikes rather than fast weak ones.
- The bats find enemies from a long way off, so you can pull most of a room without walking into it.
- Dye behaves oddly on them because of the red glow. Ordinary dyes barely register; the strange plant dyes that override color completely are the ones that look right.
