Stone Accent Slab

Regular stone slabs merge into their neighbors. That is what you want in a floor and exactly what you do not want when you are trying to hold a clean line between two materials. This block keeps its own outline against everything except smooth marble, so a border stays a border and a checker pattern reads as a checker pattern instead of dissolving into one flat gray mass.

Slabs used to behave this way by default. When merging was added the builders who had been relying on those hard edges lost them overnight, and the old behavior came back as a separate block rather than a setting. Use it as a detailing piece, not as bulk material.
