Titanium Leggings
3% increased damage and critical strike chance 6% increased movement speed
How to craft it
Set bonus
The bonus applies while the helmet, chestpiece and leggings are all worn together.
choosing a head
The chest and legs are fixed, so the only real choice in this set is the head slot. The Titanium Mask leans melee, the Titanium Helmet leans ranged and the Titanium Headgear leans magic, and every one of them completes the same set bonus, so you are picking a damage class and not a playstyle. A head costs a fraction of what the body takes, which makes owning two of them normal if you switch weapon types between fights.
how the barrier plays
Wearing the whole set turns attacking into passive defense. Hit something and shards peel off and orbit you, and anything that drifts into the orbit takes a hit for it. They spin quicker as more of them gather, so the ring thickens while you keep swinging and thins out the second you stop. Each shard is spent when it connects, they time out on their own, and they never crit. The practical effect is that small fliers and ground chaff die on their own while you concentrate on whatever you actually came down here for.
keeping shards on the board
The bonus only reacts to real combat. Traps do nothing for it at all, and target dummies and statue spawned enemies were both closed off, so you cannot idle in a farm with a full ring spinning. A sentry does count: park a Lightning Aura Rod tower beside you and its ticking damage keeps shards regenerating with your hands free. One quirk worth knowing is that the shards do not travel with you through a teleport. They fly across the map to catch up, so there is a short window on the far side where you have nothing spinning at all.
where the set sits
This is the top of the first Hardmode ore ladder, and its opposite number is the Adamantite Breastplate line. A world rolls one or the other, and the two bonuses play differently enough that the ore you got shapes how the mechanical boss stretch feels. Either way it holds until Hallowed gear opens up. One cosmetic note: the metal barely takes dye, so most colors do nothing and only a few of the intense ones read at all.
