Yellow Cockatiel

Cockatiels share the jungle canopy with the macaws and keep the same hours, daytime and above ground. Shaking a mahogany will sometimes drop a bird instead of wood, which is the fastest way to get one if you are already harvesting. They have almost no health, so a passing enemy or one careless swing of your own weapon ends the hunt before it starts.

Any bug net does the job. After that you either keep the bird loose in your inventory and release it wherever you are building, or turn it into a cage for a permanent animated version. Caging is one way unless you drop the furniture into Shimmer, which splits it back into a live bird, so grab a spare first if you want both.

A Cockatiel Statue will fill a room with birds and save you the hunting, but they are not real catches. Net one and it vanishes in a puff of smoke. Cockatiels are also among the handful of birds that cannot be cooked into anything, so decoration is the entire point of owning one.
