Crystal Slime

It never spawns naturally. Queen Slime throws these out alongside her bouncy and heavenly escorts, and this is the one that shoots. The spikes go up in a tall narrow spread, so your altitude decides how bad the arena feels. Hovering directly over one is the worst place to be, and drifting sideways puts most of a volley behind you.

The fast triple volley only switches on while the field is thin on crystal slimes. Once enough of them are alive at once, the whole group falls back to slow single shots. Clearing every one you see can therefore raise the fire coming at you rather than lower it. Kill the ones sitting under your flight path and leave the rest to crowd each other out.

Confusion is the usual answer to slimes and it does nothing at all to these. A Brain of Confusion or confusion ammunition will not send them wandering off.
