Ichor Sticker

Hardmode, the underground Crimson, and nothing summons it. It is the only thing in either Crimson biome that can attack you from range, which quietly changes how you move through a chasm: everything else down there has to reach you first, and this does not. It also carries more health than any other non-boss enemy in those biomes, so it will not fall over to the first thing you swing.

The spit on its own is survivable. What it leaves behind is the problem, because ichor strips a large slice of your defense and keeps it stripped long enough for something else to walk into you and collect. On Expert and Master that duration climbs further. In a crimson chasm the answer is target priority: kill the stickers first, then clear the rest at your own pace.

It looks airborne, but it only floats a set height above whatever is underneath it and it never jumps. Dig a pit a few tiles deep and it drifts in with no way back out. It can still shoot you from down there if it has line of sight, so either stand where it cannot see you or drop lava into the hole and walk off.

They drop ichor directly, which is the quickest route to ichor weapons and ammunition before you have anything else producing it. On old-gen console and 3DS they are the only source in the game. On current versions Tainted Ghouls and Hematic Crates share the job, which takes some pressure off without making these a bad farm.

• Die to the spit and the game blames the Golden Shower, the weapon you craft out of the same fluid. The attack is a straight copy of it.
• Say ichor the less common way, closer to icker, and the name turns into a rhyme.
• Current versions made it immune to its own debuff. On old-gen console and 3DS it can still be hit with the stuff it spits.
