Anti-Gravity Hook

Every other hook drags you toward the anchor. This one shoves you away and holds you out there, and while you hang the movement keys swing you around the anchor like a pendulum. Let go and you drift back out to the far side on your own. Latch two or three points at once and you can park yourself in the middle of them instead.

Orbiting is the whole reason to carry it. Against a boss that charges straight at wherever you are standing, Mothron above all, holding a steady circle around one anchor makes most of those dashes whiff with almost no input from you. It is also the fastest way up a flat wall: tap the grapple key repeatedly while holding up, with the cursor placed high and a little ahead of you, and you climb faster than most wings will lift you.

It comes off ordinary Martian Madness enemies rather than the saucer, so the event itself is the farm and the trash mobs are what you want to be killing. The odds are low enough that you should plan on running the invasion more than once.
