Brain Scrambler

Brain Scramblers only appear during Martian Madness, which the world cannot produce until Golem is dead. They do not spawn outside the event, so if you are seeing them you already know what you are in.

The damage on its green lasers is unremarkable. The Confused debuff riding on them is not. Your controls reverse while it is applied, and during a Martian invasion you are usually airborne over an arena or backing away from a saucer, so one reversed input flies you into whatever you were dodging. Over lava or a long drop it is worse than any of the damage the event throws at you.

Knockback is the practical answer. Shove it far enough back and the travel time on its shots is long enough that you can just step out of the line. Anything ranged kills it before it gets set up at all. If you do catch a face full of it, stop moving rather than trying to correct, because fighting reversed controls for a few seconds usually goes worse than standing still for them.
